Staking guide

Stake

Staking locks FLR on the P-chain to our validator for a fixed term and earns the validator's staking rewards, net of our fee. This page is the full staking guide, with every number stated plainly. Live figures are read from Flare mainnet by your browser, not from our servers.

Looking to delegate instead? No minimum, no lock-up, full delegation guide →. Side-by-side comparison of both paths: earn page.

How to stake, the steps in the Portal

  1. In the Flare Portal, open the Staking section and connect your wallet.
  2. First time only: the Portal will ask you to register your address (binding your C-chain and P-chain addresses, one signature, no funds move).
  3. Transfer the FLR you want to stake from the C-chain to the P-chain (the Portal does this in-flow).
  4. Pick a validator and search for ours:
    NodeID-8Tp4GLFefnrLzzD7YU6qvEzDRRT1L6Zec
  5. Enter an amount of 50,000 FLR or more and a duration of 14 days or more. Your stake's end date must fall within our current validation term, the Portal's date picker enforces this automatically.
  6. Confirm in your wallet. Your FLR is now locked and earning until the end date, when it unlocks automatically, there is nothing to "withdraw" and no action anyone else can take on it.
  7. Staking rewards are delivered on the C-chain side. The same 90-day claim window applies.
Stakes do not renew themselves. Every delegated stake on Flare has a fixed on-chain end date, when it passes, your FLR unlocks and simply stops earning until you stake it again. Nothing on Flare auto-renews. CashLab will offer an opt-in email reminder before your stake ends as part of our upcoming auto-claim service (not live yet).
Safety, once and clearly: staking and delegation never involve sending FLR to us or to anyone. No legitimate provider will ever ask you to transfer funds, share a seed phrase, or "validate" your wallet. If anyone claiming to be CashLab asks for any of that, it is a scam, our only addresses are the ones printed on this page and verifiable on-chain.

Our fee, stated plainly

20%, on both paths. It applies to reward flows only, your principal is never touched, and 80% of the rewards earned on what you delegate or stake is yours.

WFLR delegation20%, the network-wide minimum set by Flare governance in FIP.16 (April 2026) and enforced on-chain: the fee contract's minFeeBIPS reads 2000 (= 20.00%) for every provider. Ours is exactly the floor, verifiable, not a promise.
Validator staking20%, our posted rate, matching the same governance minimum from day one. You may find validators displaying lower rates: fees set before the FIP.16 rule, or before its enforcement completes across the staking layer, remain in force for the remainder of those validators' current terms.

What you're staking on

OperationIndependent, solo-operated. The full Flare protocol stack, FTSO price feeds, Fast Updates, FDC attestations and our own validator, on dedicated hardware we own and operate.
Validator isolationThe validator runs on its own dedicated machine, isolated from every other workload.
Self-bond3,000,000 FLR of our own capital is staked to the same validator, on the same terms, before anyone else's — when epoch 422 paid zero, it paid us zero too.
MonitoringIndependent watchdog systems on both machines, with escalation to a human around the clock. An independent read-only auditor reviews the infrastructure; its findings outrank our own claims.
ResultsNew validator (live August 2026). We publish live numbers rather than promises, judge us on the status page as the history accrues.

Risks, stated plainly

Your FLR is lockedThere is no early exit. Once a stake is confirmed, your FLR is locked until the end date you chose, Flare has no mechanism to unlock it sooner, for anyone. Only stake what you will not need before that date.
Worst caseMissed rewards, never lost principal. Flare's P-chain has no slashing for stakers: if our validator underperforms or goes offline, you can earn nothing for that period, but your staked FLR cannot be taken or reduced. FTSO-side penalties fall on CashLab's own stake, not yours.
One validatorCashLab runs a single validator node today, there is no second node to fail over to. It is monitored around the clock with escalation to a human, and an independent read-only auditor reviews the infrastructure, but we state the single point plainly rather than hide it.
Term boundaryOur current bond period ends Oct 7, 2026. Stakes cannot extend past that date until we re-bond for the next term, the Portal's date picker enforces this.
Variable rewardsRewards change every epoch and can be zero. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of any return.

And as covered above: stakes never renew themselves. When your end date passes, your FLR unlocks and simply stops earning until you act.
